JoAnn Tresco – JoAnn bought PA DanceSport Ballroom in 2010 from Kevin Freedman and Mark Dostalik, following retirement from the military and has grown the business at its original site to a 7 day a week operation employing eight talented instructors who teach dance and engender a cohesive dance community. Her mission of “enhancing lives through dance” was born of her experience at this studio when she turned to dance following a combat tour.
Aaron Williams – Aaron began teaching in 2016 following college graduation. He and Sasha Ableitner compete in ballroom dancing together. He has a full time career as a physical therapy assistant. He enjoys medal testing, performing in studio showcases and teaching private lessons.
Christy Kam – Christy Kam began teaching full time in 2017 after moving to Hershey from Orlando with her two poodles, Pika and Rya, who are mascots in the studio. She has over 20 years of experience teaching dance beginning with ballet with the Royal Academy. She competes, coaches and judges competitions all over the world and is a five time world champion. She trains instructors in the studio and choreographs studio formations.
Jon Kopatz – Jon Kopatz began teaching at PA DanceSport in 2007 after completing his degree in chemical engineering and a tour of duty with the 82nd Airborne, U.S. Army. He teaches private lessons full time in the studio, participates in medal testing and performs with his students.
Mindy Hofsass – Mindy began teaching at PA DanceSport in 2009. She has a degree in marine biology and currently works full time in addition to owning and Operating “Treasures by Mindy,” a business that creates dance accessories and offers custom stoning of dance apparel. She is the lead group class instructor, coaches studio formations, medal tests with students and couples and teaches private lessons.
Sasha Ableitner – Sasha began teaching at PA Dancesport in 2016. She competes with Aaron Williams in ballroom dance competitions. She is the principal dancer, choreographer and owner of Luna Nova Belly Dance and enjoys a successful career as a lawyer.
Alexis Popko – Alexis began dancing in 2017 and knew almost immediately that she wanted to teach dance. Within one year she was in our junior instructor training program. Although her forte is group coaching and teaching group lessons, she also teaches private lessons and wedding dances.
Samantha Pence – Samantha began dancing at PA DanceSport as a student in 2010 and quickly knew she wanted a career as a dance instructor. She began training as a junior instructor in 2018. Her forte is working with formations and coaching choreography. She also teaches private lessons and wedding dances.
Janice Pence – Janice Pence is a certified LaBlast Instructor, the fitness platform based on ballroom figures. She is a high school math teacher and mother of Samantha Pence.
